What does the indicator LED colour mean? (Pictor)
The Power LED, on the bottom left of the front of the scanner, is red when the scanner is powered and green when the scanner is successfully connected to the control software (C2D).
The Audio head LED is off when the audio playback/recording function is not turned on.
When audio mode is set to On, it will briefly turn purple while the audio module is initialising then it will be white.
When sound playback is starting, the light will briefly turn yellow during synchronisation then stay blue if the film is only playing, or green if it is recording.
If there is a playback error, the light will turn orange. This means there may be a playback issue but recording is still working fine if the scanner was recording.
If there is a recording error, or an input error that could affect the recording, the light will be red. You should not hear any sound, but don’t try to adjust the audio head physically, the red light indicates a software issue. Get in touch with support.
For legacy C2D versions (4.0) and Pictor 2019 model:
The LED will be orange when the scanner is connected to the control software (C2D) and audio is turned on.
Green light means audio playback or recording is active. A red LED indicates a problem. The light being temporarily red just means that the audio signal is syncing. This can take a second while starting a scan.
Note that if you play the film with audio and then turn the sound head down, the audio status will still be ‘on’. The LED will stay green and audio will still be played/recorded, but as there is no signal if the head is down, it will just be silent. Of course it is advised not to change the sound head position while playing/recording.
