Jumping frames (HDS)

Jumping frames could be caused by dirt/hair in the sprocket or by damaged sprockets. These could causes early or delayed triggers of the camera which causes the jumping frames.

Here are a few examples of a sprocket that could cause a jumping frame.

Jumping frames caused by dirt/hair in a sprocket could be prevented with PTR rollers that are clean and in good condition and wetgate. Or by cleaning the film before digitizing the film

Another option is to change the behavior of the trigger. Sometimes it helps to change the trigger from triggering. It can be set to triggering when the sprocket is entering the laser (leading) or when the sprocket is leaving the laser beam (trailing).
